Heelys, the name behind wheeled footwear, has joined forces with SEGA for the Sonic the Hedgehog x Heelys Gio Collection, a limited-edition capsule that turns a rolling classic into a tribute to one of gaming's most recognizable icons.
Revealed in Carrollton, Texas, the project pairs retro video game nostalgia with the glide-anywhere appeal of Heelys. It arrives as two character-driven models built on the fan-favorite Gio silhouette, each carrying design cues from the Green Hill Zone world that Sonic fans know by heart.
Two Characters, Two Colorways
Leading the lineup is the Sonic Gio, finished in the hedgehog's signature bright blue. Gold ring graphics are scattered across the upper, a clear nod to the collectibles Sonic chases through every level. Alongside it sits the Amy Rose Gio, which takes an all-over pink approach and adds printed sparkle detailing on the heel counter.
Both pairs keep the feature that made Heelys a household name: heel wheels that let the wearer move easily between walking and rolling.
