Louis Vuitton Takes on the Forecast: Pharrell's SS27 Pre-Collection Is Built for Any Weather

Rain, shine or a flight path that crosses both: Louis Vuitton is ready. The house has revealed its Spring/Summer 2027 Men's Pre-Collection, led by Men's Creative Director Pharrell Williams and framed by a title that doubles as a mission statement, "Whatever the Weather."

The range is conceived for the globe-trotting traveler who moves between continents and climates. It pairs the practicality of rainwear with polished, dandy-leaning tailoring and fabrics designed to stand up to changing conditions.

At the heart of the lineup is the weathered Monogram Reporter motif, which draws on 1980s workwear. Coated canvas meets brown suede and leather paneling, and the look appears across blue nylon puffers, orange reversible gilets and lasered denim sets.

Classic rain gear gets a luxury overhaul. Expect shiny calfskin fisherman slickers, a hard-wearing puffer coat cut from mini-Monogram jacquard, belted suiting, and packable fleece blousons that fold away into their own front pocket.

Optical illusion is the other big idea. The Trompe L'Oeil Jersey pieces use an advanced printing technique on leather to recreate the feel of classic grey sweatshirt fabric, and the effect shows up on hoodies as well as on Keepall 50, Speedy 30 and Track backpack styles.

The collection also reaches into technical footwear, led by the LV Drop 300 sneaker and mud-splattered LV Ranger boots, which add a rugged finish to the outdoor-ready story.

With utility, wit and craftsmanship all in play, Louis Vuitton's SS27 pre-collection turns unpredictable weather into a style opportunity.
