Summary
Jil Sander and Oliver Peoples return with three new sunglasses for Collection 2.Titanium and sculpted acetate frames balance modernist precision with organic forms.Tonal and contrasting lens combinations expand the collaboration’s color language.
Jil Sander and Oliver Peoples are continuing their eyewear partnership with Collection 2, a three-style sunglasses range designed under Jil Sander Creative Director Simone Bellotti. Building on the collaboration’s exploration of precision and restraint, the new release plays with contrasts between modernist rigor and organic softness, translating them into rounded forms intended to follow the contours of the face.
Each pair is handmade in Japan and fitted with lenses crafted in Italy, while a broader approach to color introduces both tonal and higher-contrast frame-and-lens combinations. Edition 7 provides the collection’s architectural counterpoint in titanium, pairing a rounded eyewire with a sculptural top bar, shaped bridge, low-set endpieces and curved temples. Editions 9 and 10 shift into sculpted acetate: the former uses a thick, angular frame that unexpectedly widens toward the bottom, while the latter softens its geometry through a rounded, upswept silhouette and flowing curved temples.
Color play acts as a central defining element in Collection 2, offering combinations that range from soft, tone-on-tone harmonies to striking visual contrasts. The lineup delivers a rich palette across titanium and acetate variations: Edition 7 is offered in Gold and Silver frames paired with Light Brown Wash, G-15, Indigo, or Grey Gradient lenses; Edition 9 presents bold acetate in Black, Dark Mahogany, Taupe, and Buff; and Edition 10 comes in Black, Dark Mahogany, Bright Blue, and Amber with Carbon Grey or Indigo lenses. Serving as both a functional object and artistic gesture, the Jil Sander x Oliver Peoples Collection 2 is available through select Jil Sander boutiques, Oliver Peoples stockists, and online at JilSander.com.
