Revealed on the LUAR SS27 runway on September 14, LUAR and Lunazul Tequila have created a limited-edition clothing capsule that merges Raul Lopez’s NYC-inspired aesthetics with Lunazul’s tequila craftsmanship. Featuring a head-to-toe look that Lopez says “couldn’t get more New York,” the consciously-crafted collection centers around an innovative agave twist.
The meticulous attention to detail that both labels are known for extends to the unboxing experience. Housed in a collaborative package, the kit opens with a special card detailing the partnership, a co-branded sticker, and bespoke LUAR wrapping beside a complementary bottle of Lunazul Tequila. Translating the foundations of blue agave cultivation into a tangible, wearable experience, the highly exclusive capsule within nods to their shared lunar inspiration and dedication to craft.
Peeling away the custom LUAR wrapping reveals the capsule's core elements: the black denim set — comprising a classic trucker jacket and wide-leg shorts — the classic baseball cap, and the basketball-shaped handbag. Designed with matching details, the jacket, shorts, and cap are elevated by striking blue contrast stitching and co-branded agave leather patches. On the jacket, a distinctive agave leather collar amplifies the Lunazul blue details throughout the rest of the look.
Zooming out from the denim, the broader collection orbits around the basketball-shaped handbag. Characterized by a Lunazul blue agave leather shell and a subtle LUAR logo at the front, the bag serves as the perfect accent to the pared-back feel of the garments. This cutting-edge plant-based leather is a direct homage to Lunazul’s mastery of hand-harvested agave cultivation and distilling, a craft spanning more than seven generations.
