A.PRESSE has opened a dedicated retail space with Gallery HBX, built entirely around a concept the gallery calls Space Age Retro Future. Rather than centering on new apparel alone, the space treats its own interior design as an extension of A.PRESSE's identity, reworking mid-century futurism into a setting built specifically for the brand's clothing.
The interior is built from rosewood walls set beneath a wood louver ceiling, softened by wool carpets and melton curtains throughout the space. Garments are displayed on solid brass racks, a detail that ties the retail fixtures directly into the space's broader material palette rather than treating them as purely functional add-ons.
Alongside the clothing displays, the space is furnished with a curated set of vintage pieces spanning several decades: a 1972 Percival Lafer MP-61 sofa, a pair of Brazilian armchairs, and patinated brass "A-lamp" sconces by Louis Poulsen dating back to the 1930s. Percival Lafer built his reputation designing furniture in Brazil known for rounded, sculptural forms that leaned into the same organic-futurist language that shaped space-age design more broadly, while Louis Poulsen has spent nearly a century producing lighting recognized for its sculptural brass and metal fixtures. Placed together, the pieces root the space's futuristic concept in objects that actually came out of the eras it's referencing, rather than newly built replicas.
The concept is less a literal reference to outer space and more as "the future as imagined by people in the past," pointing to how 1960s and ‘70s audiences pictured what was ahead of them through rounded furniture, streamlined forms, and industrial materials. The gallery frames the space as an attempt to place A.PRESSE inside that same imagined future, reinterpreting those design cues through the brand's own contemporary clothing perspective rather than recreating the decades wholesale.
