MM6 Maison Margiela previewed its first collaboration with Havaianas at its Spring/Summer 2027 runway presentation in Milan, applying its signature fixation with the number six to the Brazilian brand’s instantly recognizable rubber flip-flop.
The collaboration takes shape through two uniquely modified designs: the Slim 6Toe and the Top 6Layers. The Top 6Layers, pushes the idea into more sculptural territory by stacking six differently shaped Havaianas soles into an intentionally irregular platform. Runway imagery shows a white strap and uppermost footbed sitting over a vivid sequence of multicolored rubber layers, with flashes of red, green, blue and violet creating a striped, almost compressed-rainbow effect beneath the foot. Despite its exaggerated height, each layer preserves the molded texture and recognizable outline of a conventional Havaianas sole, turning repetition itself into the design feature.
Meanwhile, the Slim 6Toe alters the classic rubber model to echo the anatomical outline of a bare foot, deliberately punching an extra toe slot into the silhouette to accommodate a literal sixth toe. The Top 6Layers was created exclusively for the runway and will not be offered commercially, while the broader MM6 Maison Margiela x Havaianas collaboration is scheduled to launch in May 2027.
