Reconnecting a relationship that spans nearly a decade, Birkenstock has teamed up with filmmaker and creative director Cole Bennett to reimagine the iconic Boston clog. Launching in celebration of the silhouette’s 50th anniversary, the collaboration honors the original 1976 design while injecting Bennett's personal narrative and cultural influence.
The collaboration reworks the clog in a single off-white colorway built around an intentionally tactile wool-felt upper. The material varies in length, density and tone across the shoe, creating an irregular, shaggy surface that gives the familiar semi-closed silhouette a softer and more sculptural appearance. Bennett encourages wearers to trim the wool themselves and allow the pale finish to pick up dirt and wear over time, turning the otherwise neutral color into a surface intended to develop individual character.
Inside, a soft microfiber lining ensures everyday comfort. Anchoring the design's themes of imagination and permanence is a custom crescent "Moon Buckle," cast in a striking antique dark copper finish.
