Balenciaga has officially launched the Radar Sneaker, a sleek new silhouette under Pierpaolo Piccioli’s creative direction.
The Radar Sneaker is a streamlined departure from Balenciaga’s chunky “dad shoe” aesthetic, emphasizing agility and comfort. A radical hybrid, the silhouette merges the technical DNA of a high-performance track shoe with the delicate elegance of a classic ballerina flat. The upper is constructed from a complex layering of breathable mesh and faux-leather structural overlays, creating a tech-forward look that is juxtaposed against a strikingly low-profile, scooped-out throat. This "reductive" design removes the traditional bulk of a trainer, resulting in a sleek, foot-hugging frame that balances athletic aggression with elongated grace.
Its double lacing system wraps around the entire upper, creating a secure fit that visually merges with the foot. The sneaker’s low‑profile construction is paired with highly structured elements, including a debossed 3B sport logo on the toe box and Balenciaga’s signature exposed shoe size on the heel.
