Jil Sander Unveils Simone Bellotti's Debut SS26 Campaign

Summary

  • Stef Mitchell’s intimate campaign highlights Simone Bellotti’s SS26 Jil Sander debut, featuring sculptural silhouettes and vibrant blues.
  • Shifting from the Meier era, Bellotti focuses on body-conscious designs that balance concealment with emphasis ahead of his February 2026 sophomore show.

Stef Mitchell captured the subtle intimacy of Simone Bellotti’s first formal campaign for Jil Sander, featuring his SS26 debut, shown in September.

"A curiosity for the body is what I am after. Posture and gesture as ways of communicating, clothes that invite to get close, that hide and reveal,” Bellotti expressed in an official release. Slashed maxi skirts, a translucent aqua dress, and leather shirting for men mingle with the idea of the garments' dual purpose: concealment and emphasis of the body.

Striking shades of blue are scattered throughout the line, appearing in electric blue, deep indigo, and cyan. As Mitchell’s lens captures the subjects up close and in direct contact, Bellotti’s garments speak volumes against the minimal backdrop.

The 2025 show, which marked Simone Bellotti’s first collection for the German label, was a stark departure from the moody closing seasons helmed by Luke and Lucie Meier. Bellotti's sophomore presentation is slated for February 25, 2026, at Milan Fashion Week.

The Meiers stepped down from their almost decade-long tenure at Jil Sander in early 2025. Since then, Bellotti has expressed a commitment to carrying Sander’s legacy from an authentic place, having teased the new chapter with a focus on the brand’s Hamburg roots.
